This video was shown during the Dreamforce 2007 Gathering, created by Salesforce.com’s in-house Creative Director Bruce Campbell. Nice watch if you missed it.
Dreamforce 2007 Pictures Posted

Dreamforce Day 2 – George Lucas & Bob Thurman
George Lucas and Bob Thurman kick off day 2 of Dreamforce 2007 with a conversational style interview. The conversation wandered a bit from the intended topic of “Bringing School Into The Information Age” as they discussed mostly ethical and morality issues. One thing they discussed that I agree whole heartedly with is that when a company does something great it helps everyone in the industry and that by helping each other in business and in life everyone can benefit. It reminded me quite a bit of one of the more influential speakers I’ve witnessed – Tim Sanders. Tim’s whole philosophy is that “you will find your success in business through helping others grow by sharing your intangibles—your knowledge, network and compassion”. I’ve personally tried to adopt this philosophy as much as possible and its paid tremendous dividends.
INXS Closes Out Day 1 of Dreamforce
INXS played the Gala tonight, wrapping up day 1 at the Moscone Center:
Dev Life and Cisco Open 2nd Half of Day 1
Prior to the 2nd keynote of the day by John Chambers attendees were shown this comical video:
John Chambers was a great speaker, extremely passionate about Cisco and how collaboration in the web 2.0 world is changing business and the way Cisco operates. I was surprised to learn Cisco is using Wikis, Facebook, and other new technology to improve productivity and collaboration among their employees. The presentation was turned a bit salesy with the product demonstration but was kept light and entertaining. Bottom line – Cisco and Salesforce are doing some very cool work together.
Dreamforce 2007 – Visual Force Announced
Marc Benioff just announced the latest piece of the Salesforce.com Platform – Visual Force. The idea is that you can now use the Salesforce platform to develop any interface on any application for any device. This has some really amazing possibilities, and we saw some great demos that now take the SFDC platform and transform it into some simpler, more streamlined interfaces that are specifically designed for devices like the iphone and tablet PC’s. Salesforce will now be broken down into “components” that will allow customers to edit the code inside the platform and simply push out custom interfaces for their users.
Dreamforce 2007 – May The Force Be With You
George Lucas seemed like an odd choice as a speaker this year, but now it all makes sense. Marc Benioff just announced that the new name for the “platform as a service” product will be Force.com.
Dreamforce 2007 Opens
Tonight was the opening of Dreamforce 2007 at Moscone North / South in San Francisco. Much like last year the event began with a reception inside the exhibit hall. I go to quite a few conferences each year and this is a fantastic way to open an event as it brings together all of the attendees in a more casual setting and festive mood.
George Lucas and Journey added to the Dreamforce 2007 Roster
It was originally posted that The Barenaked Ladies would be the music headliner at the Gala event, but that was changed at some point to The Foo Fighters and now it seems that The classic rock band Journey will be performing. The legendary George Lucas will also be a keynote speaker.
